A social experiment and Idol last group of 12

First let me just say that I have not watched the Bachelor all season. However I did watch the Bachelorette when Jason was vying for Deanna's love. So when I heard all the hype about this being the most dramatic ending ever etc etc, I decided to watch the finale for the heck of it. The show is known for saying things are dramatic and then not having any dramatic moments. This season, the finale drama was supposed to come when Deanna shows up to tell Jason she made a mistake and she should have picked him. But in fact, the drama came when he did propose to one contestant and then in the re-cap episode he admitted that he made a mistake, dumped the girl in a one on one taped interview and then asked the girl he had passed over to give him a shot. I never believed any of them actually loved each other or understand love in the short time they have (and these people are all losers), so I don't feel bad for them, but the drama has been GREAT. Waiting tonight to see he and girl number two on TV tonight to try to convince America their love now is the true one. If he proposes to her too, it will be TV genius.

So now to Idol -- last top 12 group!! Re-cap on last week -- Adam and Allison made it in and then Kris did too over Megan the tattoo girl. I think she will get a wild card spot though. I really like this process because we don't get bored with anyone -- we get a break from them before they start performing as the Top 12...

For tonight:
Von Smith -- "You're All I Need to Get By" He had been accused of screaming. Simon tried to compliment him by saying he was like Clay Aiken -- I agree and I wasn't that into it -- he sang well, but not my style. OK

Taylor Vaifanua -- "If I Ain't Got You" I don't remember much about her and I think too many people perform this Alicia Keys song and the beginning i too long and boring. And then even when she hits the more exciting part, it doesn't do much for me. BUH BYE And why do the least interesting people feel the need to hold up their fingers for their numbers?

Alex Wagner-Trugman -- "I Guess That's Why The Call It the Blues" Love his personality -- funny dork. The dancing was hysterical. I can tell he has a good voice, but he did too much to the song - the growl was overkill. Simon was right on about taking the Joe Cocker thing too far. BUH BYE And he waved his fingers.

Arianna Afsar -- "The Winner Takes It All" First Abba song ever -- that could be great or terrible... She did not hit all the notes and it was rough. I wanted her to be able to do it but it felt really drawn out. Simon was really harsh on such a young girl -- I mean, she gets it already. I actually appreciated Paula's positivity in the comments. OK but I hope there are better tonight. She is turning into a BUH BYE after Felicia.

Ju'not Joyner -- "Hey there Delilah" Very smooth, but he really drags it out. But he picks it up into this love anthem. I think I like it better than the original in some ways...cool, cool. But can he beat Danny and Adam? I'd like to see him try. VOTE

Kristin McNamara -- "Give Me One Reason" She runs a karaoke show. I can tell with the showmanship. I'm torn on her, always have been. But I think the band is actually what's making this weird. Plus the fact that I didn't know the song was "give me one reason to stay HERE" and not just "give me one reason to stay" That is distracting. Paula said she missed the range in her song choice but then that the song showed she has range -- hmmm. OK

Nathaniel Marshall -- "I Would do Anything for Love" I swear I had the Olivia Newton John comment in my head before Simon said it!! Totally agree that I can't tell what kind of song he would record. And the dance moves? Yikes. I like that Simon was sweet to his Grandmother. BUH BYE

Felicia Barton -- "No one" She was the substitute for Joanna Paciti who got kicked off before the Top 36 for knowing the producers at 19. She got called back - what a moment. Now she better capture that! She picks Alicia Keys, makes me nervous. She looks cool and sure of herself. Doesn't hit everything and doesn't make it original but her voice is strong. Uh oh, she waves her arm in the air. She's mature and I think she will get better. VOTE unless another woman blows me away. And now she becomes an OK, because there ain't nothing but L'il Rounds.

Scott McIntyre -- "Mandolin Rain" Okay, so we know he is blind. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY HE PICKED ONE OF THE BEST SONGS EVER. He would be better behind a piano so he has something to focus on. I am biased because I love the song. Nice job - not mind blowing, but nice job. VOTE Love that he asked Ryan to high five.

Kendall Beard -- "This One's for the Girls" Adorable - can't believe she is 24 but her singing voice is stronger than her speaking voice. I love this Martina McBride song but she sounds a bit flat. And she dragged it. Wanted to love it, but didn't. OK

Jorge Nunez -- "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" He is working on that accent man. Nice tone to his voice -- best singer so far tonight. Would be great if he broke out in a Marc Anthony song one week. Weird look, but I could listen to him with my eyes closed -- great control. I liked it better than Von. VOTE He is the kind of contestant the show should have -- not a smart aleck. And I agree with Simon - stop knocking the Spanish - this is America for god's sake.

L'il Rounds -- "Me Without You" They have been pimping her from the start. Did you notice the Coke Bottle on her table at home? Very hard to even attempt Mary J, but I knew she could hit it -- and not just because they put her in the prime last spot. But she feels fresh, not stale wanna be Whitney like we've had in the past. She could make an album right now. LOVE her waving her arm in the air and I am not a fan of that at all. VOTE VOTE VOTE

This is a tough one tonight -- not a lot of great options. I am going to vote for L'il Rounds and Ju'not -- the two people with apostrophe's in their names. And then Jorge because I assume Scott will take the third seat, for doing a good job but also for sympathy, and I would like to see Jorge get through. (See Amy, they can add some color!!) Von, Scott and Felicia can compete for wild card on Thursday.

Let me go back to the Bachelor one more time. Here is my take -- fine for the guy to not have been able to make a decision between two hot girls -- but is there a need to ask one of them to marry you if you weren't sure? And by just staying with Melissa for 6 weeks only, he certainly never actually tried to make it work. Ok now let's talk about the losers in the audience tonight who said they were crying watching true love on the show and the disappointment in Jason -- these people are crazy. The ones on the show and the ones who watch it (I know I watched this ending but I don't cry when they propose or believe anything is true -- I just like the social experiment aspect.) And Jason and Molly are upset that people are talking about them - THEN WHY DID YOU GO ON A TV REALITY SHOW? Okay enough time on this.

hey remember...don't be ashamed of your obsessions (I swear I am not obsessed with the Bachelor).
