Could there be a better summer day/night than the one I spent last weekend? Central Park, NYC, a gorgeous 85 degree sunny, breezy day, lying out in the Park waiting for the best band in the world. I joked around with my partner in crime and then at 8pm, they hit the stage -- BON JOVI. And let me tell you, there may not be anything better than JBJ wearing just a leather vest with jeans. The man is blessed with the good looking genes. And they sang all the great songs including the first hit "Runaway" and the new "I Love This Town" which I love.
What else have I enjoyed this summer? Well, as we have already discussed, some TV has kept me intrigued although my DVR is happily getting a rest. Gossip Girl catch up, Nashville Star, and then some fun marathon watching. On Sunday, as I recovered from my post Bon Jovi craziness (foolishness and utter stupidity) I watched a marathon season of Two A Days from MTV. It is the real version of Friday Night Lights and featured this team from Alabama and it is so good. I mean this coach is so hard on these guys and they play football with everything they have. But then they show their friendships and love lives and it is a good fix for anyone who is jonesing for some FNL. Big Brother just started so I'll catch that too. Will not be watching the I Love Money show that features rejects from Rock of Love and all the Flavor of Love shows and I Love NY shows. It looks completely retarded.
Next week the new Sugarland album is coming out - already pre-ordered it. Heard samples of the tracks on their website and I guarantee it is a great buy. And then the IDOLS come to town! Well, okay NJ. I can't wait to see me some Cook in action. Woo hoo!
Signing off my friends and wishing you all happy pop culture obsession moments like mine last weekend...
